Salute report 4of6 (Mierce, Freebooter, Figone, Infamy, Bushido, etc)

This year I noticed that Fantasy was bit less present than Scifi, most new flashy releases, games or new ranges licenses were set in the future, do not get me wrong there was still plenty of stands to check out.

Mierce Miniatures

Great miniatures and the scale of some of these monster are quite imposing. I almost took the bait but in the end I managed to resist.

Freebooter

Always a must see, some of the best minis in the industry and quite funny details on the stand.

Bushido

Another must see stand packed with amazing minis and paintobs. Ito clan is still my favorite.

Infamy

Great miniatures but the scale is around 35mm +. Quite impressed with the design on some of these figures.

Figone

What to say? Probably the best Paintjobs on the show and an incredible range for the painters and collectors. The French chaps there did struggle to understand a word of english though. Was quite funny at times. I almost got a couple of these minis but for some reason I resisted yet again.

The others

Some minis that got my attention. There was plenty more at the show but again time was short to report them all.

Warplogue goblin was great but was only for pre order.

Salute report 3of6 (Gates of Antares, Terminator)

Gates of Antares

During the day I stumbled upon Gates of Antares. I have to confess that I have not followed this game to close in past. All I remembered was a not very popular kickstarter and that the first human miniature was quite nice but the following sculpts not my cup of tea. I lost them on my radar.

For curiosity sake I went to check them out and found a poster that reminded me of Ironman and took some pictures of their painted minis on display...

Since Im quite unfamiliar with the range I was not sure of what I was looking at, but my opinion regarding bland sculpts did change. Again is the same argument that in real life they look so much better, but these minis really did look like something fun to paint, specially the red ones. I could see myself getting some. I think I will follow this a little closer from now on since I only was aware of like 10% of their range. Specially after I looked into something on the other side of the stand... 

Sculptors corners are always a favorite of mine and spent a bit of time chatting with them, learned a few more tricks there! After the chat and before I went into Alessio corner with his Terminator game it took a few pics of some minis on the sculptors display. Not sure but I think they are for Gates of Antares and they look bloody beautiful!

Terminator License game content... there is still a rulebook and some kind of mat.

Ok so my thoughts about Terminator. The miniatures are quite interesting and they are cast in plastic sprues not resin/plastic as many other companies new stuff. Thats a big plus for me. I think that the human faction sculpts are superior in comparison to the Terminators ones, the human proportions are more realistic than the popular heroic style so its quite refreshing. I can see myself getting some human sprues just for the kicks. Looking at that resin Lted Edition you can see how nice the humans are.

Depending on price point I could get this game because it sounds interesting from the little bits I heard from Alessio.

I think this license will give many hours of fun to the fans, nice minis in plastic sprues and a game created by a veteran. Its going to be an interesting year for sure.
