SALUTE 2012 coverage Part 3 ( Gruntz, Mcvey, Black Hat, Ammon, painting...)

Salute was huge and I barely had time to cover some of the things that I really planned to, for example I wanted to play some Gruntz demos but I simply had NO time for it... between shopping, chatting with frothers, making new friends, meeting clients and taking some pics i only managed to scratch the surface of what was on display... crazy immense event... I leave you guys a small pictographic gallery of the things that got my camera attention... enjoy... Oh some new things there from Mcvey, black hat, gruntz tables, kallistra, ammon tank etc etc...

And since this is the BUG-Man blog I finish my reports with:

SALUTE 2012 coverage Part 2 ( GZG and Critical Mass games)

The 15mm adventure at Salute2012 continues and this time with the two biggest 15mm scifi manufacturer's in the UK Ground Zero games and Critical Mass games.

I got to the Critical Mass really early in the day so I had room to take pics and explore and here are the pics of the boot...

CRITICAL MASS NEW STUFF

I bought some goodies and when I was about to move away I have seen the new Mercs Vadorian assassins 2 needless to say that I got that blister, pics soon.

GROUND ZERO GAMES

I got to the boot later in the day and it was literally packed! SO many people in a shopping frenzy... I only managed to take some pics.

These two boots took most of my money for the day.

SALUTE 2012 coverage Part 1 ( Dropzone Commander)

Saturday 21st of April at Excell London it was the meca of all things wargaming.
It was so huge that I'm going to divide the things that made my day so memorable.

On part 1 of this small resumed coverage I will show you guys what to me was the biggest surprise at salute... Dropzone Commander the mass battle 10mm sci fi game presentation...

Totally unexpected this new game had 4 different factions totally sculpted and painted on display, not only that but they had some casted stuff for people to handle and see by themselves the quality of the casting... and YES! The biggest drawback for me from things like Firestrom armada is that some casts have still the print lines from the 3d Printer and that's a big no for me... but these casts absolutely flawless... the design of the ships is BRILLIANT.  Don't believe me?

The spaceship corridors now with infestations

Well next weekend its Salute in London and as such I'm bringing along some of the modular space ship sulaco tiles I have been infesting for Fenris Games. As you may know this is more of a private project than a commission and its all about my favourite style of games... remember Aliens Vs Predator FPS?... or the boardgames about lost ships in space? If so you know exactly what I'm talking about here, I always wanted one bio infested abandoned spaceship and this is my chance... and in 3d!

So this is the first batch and consists of some corridors and individual tiles next batch will have rooms and more corridors and soon after some doors and walls... ALL will be infested and in the end I will be able to have one huge ship full of nasty bug things for my games muhahaha.

Now to the first batch pictures

20 new tiles are all done and finished but most importantly I made all these in a way that they are not intrusive for when you place your favourite miniatures in just check the profile pics I took and you can see they have very little volume, but that's not all since I love 15mm and 28mm I sculpted these in a way they can accommodate both scales with no problems just check the scale pic.

See you all at SALUTE!

First sculpt of the Chuhuac for Loud Ninja Games

I managed to sculpt the first of many space dinosaurs for Loud Ninja Games and this fella is really tiny as you can see from the scale pictures that I have included further down this post.

It's a very nice challenge to sculpt at 15mm scale and I do try to put as many details as possible... but still you have to take in consideration the fact that these miniatures, above all, should be enjoyable to paint.

Since I'm also a painter I do try to put myself on the shoes of the miniature painters so I tend to sculpt the minis detailed but also with sharp and visible different painting areas so that the painter does not have to struggle just to figure out the details.

One thing I do dislike about some of the minis out there is that, even if superbly sculpted, sometimes they just have way to much stuff going on and it all blurs into a big mess of details... Not fun to paint and I try to dodge that with my sculpting.

But enough with the talk and lets see some pictures:
