Salute coverage (Part 2)

Salute is always the best place for companies show off their new products and this year there was one that I was more curious about:

Wyrd game Puppet Wars: Unstitched.

I always liked the look of the miniatures from the first original Puppet Wars and this was a good opportunity to see in person what the new version of the game would bring to the table.

Well I have mixed feelings on what I have seen... Concentrating only on the miniatures and not the game itself since I had not the time for a demo the first thing noticeable is that the metal miniatures are gone now and that in the box you will get plastic sprues instead... I managed to be a bit annoying and snatched the sprues from the box and took some pics hehe...

Check them out.

The game comes with only 2 different sprues and one of them is repeated 3 times...

The minis did have lots of detail but they are much bigger scale wise in comparison with the older metal versions, the game also had assembling instructions for the minis.

Lots of minis in the box (44) and they look fun to paint but 3x the same sprue? Errr not my cup of tea if you are looking for something special and unique to paint up rather than multiples of the same thing.

I always seen this game as a big contender for Soda Pop Super Dungeon Explore but I have to confess they missed the chance for something special with such limited choices on the sprues, I get the feeling they did fall short yet again.

GOBLIN AID pictures

Goblin aid miniatures and patches etc were spreaded all over salute and I probably missed some greens but here are some of them. A good cause deserves good minis and the fellas did do a good job on all those gobbos.

See you guys on part 3.

Salute 2013 coverage (part1)

FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK WE SALUTE YA!!!!

Past saturday we had Salute 2013, one of the best ( if not the biggest) wargaming events in the UK/EU.
Again this year I had the fortune to participate in this amazing expo. Most companies present their new products and if you look carefully there is always a good bargain to be found.

The day started early and this year I heard some concerns that the queues got to be so big that they were running out of space, promising start then!

I had a few goals this year... Deliver my goblin aid miniature as soon as possible to Fenris stand, take some few pictures of anything that I fancy, talk to some of my clients, shop some minis and catch up with friends from Frothers and Chelmsford bunker.

But hey things can get freaking chaotic, fast! And so they did!

Well after delivering goblin aid miniature I started the photos spree. I took around 400 but after cleaning them I will only upload 130ish separated in several different posts on this blog.

So here you go, starting with a 15mm scifi coverage...

( 15mm is for the true gamer) (part 1)

Critical mass stand

My favorite 15mm company of all time Ground Zero Games

Got of bunch of tomorrow wars RANG ( superb details)

They also had a awesome table for

Since we are on spaceships heres some DROPZONE new things.

I had a surprise with BRIGADE GAMES and got some of these!

So this is my 15mm  small report but would like to mention that a company totally blowed my mind this year... Antenocitti workshop simply rocked in every way to such a degree that I took zero photos... I was to busy drooling and giving them almost all my money for the event...  I will post pics of my purchases soon... Hint: I finally got my colonial marines from aliens army!

See you on next update.

GOBLIN AID sculpt

Hi all,

The talented sculptor Kev Adams was seriously stabbed in is own house by some burglars and has been recovering from it for the past weeks. We almost lost one of the best sculptors around but fortunately he is quite a resistant fella.
His friends launched an aid page on facebook called Goblin Aid where you can read about all of the details regarding this situation...

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Goblinaid/582169528462833

Everyone is free to participate and some of us sculptors decided to sculpt and donate some goblin minis for this cause... These will later be casted and sold and the funds will go for Kev.
This is our way to help out a friend in need.

Here's my gobbo

All the goblins will be on display at salute this month on the Fenris games store... so this had to be a quick sculpt. See you all there.

2013 Kick off

2012 is gone and it was a crazy year in all aspects of my life, 90% of my hobby and life goals were achieved. This year I hope to have a much less chaotic life and relax a bit for a change.

To start I open a new section on this blog with my latest paintings, I usually sculpt much more than I paint but both are equally satisfying.

Just look up on the top menu and now you can find Gallery of colours section.

As for sculpting I'm currently sculpting 4 monsters, more news in due time.

Take care.

PS- Almost forgot to mention but my goal to sculpt 100 pieces in 2012 was conquered with 130ish sculpts total. Wow! Busy year.
